We are required to report to them on a regular basis on who we have played on air, this ensures those that produce the music get the appropriate royalties paid. Keeping the music industry vibrant and profitable. We will endeavor to promote new Australian talent as it emerges on the website and on air. About me

My name is Scott I live in Tasmania, I am married, I have two children and five awesome grandchildren. I had a life changing accident 21 years ago and was unable to work.

A few years down the track I heard about a Community Radio Station 98.9 TYGA FM, starting up in my home town and thought that it would be a good opportunity to get out of the house with a purpose.

I contacted the TYGA FM committee and offered to do a country show. Not long after the ok was given, so I gathered some music together I had bought, and turned up very keen but extremely nervous.

Roz the Station Manager, put me at ease and patiently taught me how to use the equipment. Over a few shows she slightly modified some of the equipment to make life easier, and I was away solo, yeehaa!

I started with a Friday evening two-hour show, soon after added a four-hour Saturday night show, which

I then continued both for approximately seven years.

I dropped it back to Friday nights only for the last few years, I volunteered for approximately 11 years at TYGA and enjoyed every single moment on air.

I travelled from my home to the station on a Battery powered wheelchair, approximately a four Kilometre round trip, on many occasions coming home at 9pm in temperatures below 2 degrees and rain, in a Tassie winter.

Adding them up just now, I would have completed over 800 shows. I hung up the microphone for the last time in November 2023 due to some hypotensive blood pressure issues. (low)

I have now started my own Internet Station and still have Great Country Tracks close at all times. Always running in the background while I am on the computer.

We hope as the website develops it also keeps you up to date with Oz Country news, focusing on new Country Talent as it emerges in Australia.
